Dear Parent/Carer 

Summer Fun

I am writing to you regarding the arrangements for our Summer Fun programme which is taking place from Monday 23rd August- Thursday 26th August. 

Administration and paperwork 

Our records show that your child has not returned an OSA2 Medical Form and a Photographic Permission form.  Please ensure that these are completed and returned to school by Wednesday 21st July.  Copies of the forms together with a stamped address envelope were provided with the school Welcome Pack.  Additional forms are available on our website under the Transition Section. Unfortunately, without this paperwork your child will not be able to participate in the Summer Fun Programme.   It is also essential that we have a parent/carer name and contact number. 

Arrival and departure 

When arriving for Summer Fun, your child should enter the school via the main reception at the front of the school building where they will register. Registration will take place between 8.45am-8.55am each morning for the activities to begin at 9am.  All children will be required to sign out at the main reception when they leave at 1pm.  All students must remain on site for the duration of Summer Fun.  For Safeguarding Purposes, no adults should enter the school site via the main car park at the back of the school, please use the parking available at the front of the school and enter the building by the main reception. 

In a case of emergency, the school can be contacted on mobile telephone number 07597 698629 during the hours of Summer Fun (8.30am to 1.00pm).  This mobile phone will be with a member of staff during the hours of Summer Fun. 

What to bring 

Please ensure that your child has a drink, a mid-morning snack each day, is dressed appropriately for the weather e.g. a raincoat, sunhat and sun cream, and for school-based activities each day.    Any medication that your child might require should be in its original packaging with the dispensing label clearly visible detailing the name of your child and the required dosage.  It should be handed to our First Aider each morning when your child registers for Summer Fun and collected when they leave. 


The timetable for Summer Fun is listed below and includes details of any specific equipment your child will be required to have for each session.  The sessions will be delivered by Trinity Staff or external providers supported by Trinity Staff.

*On Monday and Wednesday the students will be split into two groups and complete the two activities on a carousel basis.  

** On Thursday we will be taking the students for a ‘countryside walk’ so sensible shoes will be required, appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather (not denim), a small rucksack with plenty of water and snacks, a raincoat, (to sit on if it's not raining) sun cream, sun hat etc.  If any students have their own compass that will be useful as they will be using their navigation skills to read a map and follow a route accompanied by a member of staff. 

What not to bring 

Please do not bring expensive or valuable items into school as we cannot take responsibility for loss or damage of such items. We are a phone free school, but we appreciate that if your child is making their own way to and from Summer Fun you may prefer them to carry a mobile phone in case of any emergencies. If this is the case, we ask that the phone is switched off when they arrive on the school site and remains in their bag out of sight during Summer Fun.   Please do not bring any snacks on to the school site which contain nuts for the safety of students attending with allergies.

More Information

Being part of an Academy, the school manages its own admissions whilst abiding by the School Admissions and corresponding School Admissions Code, 2014.  This ensures that the system is fair and transparent to all.  In the normal round of admissions, parents/carers apply for a school place via Warwickshire County Council website by 31st October.  The Local Authority will then write to families during the first week of March to advise on the school that their child has been allocated.

In July, all students who have been offered a place at Trinity Catholic School will be invited with their parents/carers to a Transition Evening, when they may have another walk around the school, talk to teachers about core and option subjects, test out food in the canteen, have a look at the school uniform and generally have a relaxed tour around the site so that it starts to become familiar.
